How do Richmonders that drive for a living deal with high gas prices?

We interviewed a couple of students, commuters and those using alternate methods of transportation, to see what they do to offset rising gas prices.
Here is what they had to say:
Megan Girbert (Exercise Major at Virginia Commonwealth University)
Mode of Transportation: Bike
Girbert stated she doesn’t have a car here because she left it at home in Springfield, VA. "The bike is environmentally friendly. I don't have to worry about traffic. Its easy to get around," she said. She also said that she saves money using this method of transportation, which is used to support her interest in rock climbing and mountain biking.
Thomas Beaton (Entrepreneurial Management Major at Virginia Union University)
Mode of Transportation: Walker
Beaton stated that he doesn't use a car because of the fact that the gas prices are so high. When he needs to go visit his parents he takes the Greyhound bus. In conclusion, he also said that gas prices really don't effect him because he lives on campus and walks to his classes.

Regan is from the West side of Richmond and it takes her 15 minutes to get to and from campus. She has to come to campus twice a week. She burns a lot of gas coming to campus and going to work, which is in Midlothian, VA. She said, "Public transportation isn't reliable as far as getting to class on time so I don't use it. I have a lot of friends that live downtown (Richmond) and I don't visit them because it would burn too much gas to do so."
